      I chose the Grade 3 standard for technology. Standard LAFS.3.SL.1.2 focuses on using technology resources and media for presenting the main idea and supporting details of a work of literature to the students. The featured technology tools that go along with this standard include online presentation tools such as Prezi, audio recording devices such as MP3 recorders and smartphones, online mindmapping software such as bubbl.us, and spreadsheet programs such as Excel. Based on my current skill set, I feel mostly confident that I would be able to implement this standard.       Copyright and fair use can be an especially valuable asset as a teacher. Lots of teachers create their own study sets, ideas, projects, etc. that can be stolen or taken by another teacher or student if not established with the proper credit. Before this course, I was unaware of how to attribute copyright/Creative Commons to anything and did not even realize how necessary it was. I used to think that copyright was just an implied knowledge, but now I know that you must apply it yourself. As a teacher, if I decide to create any of my own study sets or projects and share them online, I will now make sure to apply a Creative Commons License before posting. The only lingering questions I still have about copyright are the different levels; I read upon them, but they seemed very similar to me and it was hard to differentiate them from each other.      Cyberbullying is when someone bullies another person online through a screen.       I have practically used Microsoft Word all my life as a student. I remember knowing how to use MS Word at an early age, probably as early as first grade. In elementary school, we had Technology Lab for a Related Arts course where we practiced typing and using Microsoft tools like Word. Throughout middle and high school, certain teachers allowed us to use MS Word to type out essays instead of write them out manually. At FSU, I have used Word for quite a few assignments.  Recently, assignments have been transitioned to be turned in digitally through programs like Canvas, so MS Word is used more frequently for these assignments. I have used Google Docs and Pages a few times (per assignment requirements), but I prefer Microsoft Word as I have used it since I was very young and have become very comfortable working with it.      The ISTE standard that is most meaningful to me is the Collaborator standard.        In this class, I hope to learn about new technology tools and get familiar/comfortable with using each of them. I believe having a widespread knowledge of technological tools would be useful in any setting nowadays, but especially for a future teacher like myself. Integrating technology in the classroom will be beneficial for both myself and my students. For example, if I want to use Canva in the future to make a classroom welcome sign, I know how to do so; or if I want my students to use Canva for a project, I can teach them how to use it too.      Throughout my 4 years in high school, I was a student-teacher for a program called Little Eagles, an on-campus preschool. While the students themselves did not use much technology (because they are in preschool), as a student-teacher I used it quite often.
